On Tuesday, Max Sullivan from Seacoast Online reported that Carol Shea-Porter, a failed Democrat candidate for the 1st Congressional District, believes government is the solution. Shea-Porter is the former 1st Congressional District Representative who lost her seat in 2014 to Republican Representative Frank Guinta. One of the reasons Shea-Porter lost her seat was because of her vote for Obamacare.
Apparently Shea-Porter believes that government knows better than her constituents on how to take care of themselves. A majority of her constituents did not want Shea-Porter to vote for Obamacare yet she chose to vote for it regardless. She admitted on video that she voted with Obama 90% of the time and far left wing extremist Nancy Pelosi even more. It didn’t matter what the people she was representing wanted at all. Shea-Porter admitting she doesn’t represent her constituents:
In Shea-Porter’s world, the government is the solution. How’s that working out with Obamacare? Not only did Granite Staters lose their health insurance plans but they lost their doctors and hospitals they could use as well. Not only did they lose these choices but they now pay much higher premiums as well as outrageous deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses. All thanks to Shea-Porter’s vote for Obamacare.
The University of New Hampshire has been tracking the unpopularity of Obamacare since it’s failed inception. Every year and every poll shows the majority of Granite Staters do not approve of Obamacare. And this survey doesn’t single out those just in the 1st District where the disapproval number is most likely higher:
Shea-Porter was a failure as a representative before and her commentary shows that she would continue to be a failure if she were re-elected. From Seacoast Online:
“It doesn’t really matter which one (Guinta or Ashooh) because they actually share a philosophy. It’s the same philosophy, about attacking government and attacking good government,” said Shea-Porter. “I think being a politician is a very honorable and respectable job, and I believe in good government, so I’ll be the one talking about good government and saying that we have a responsibility to serve the people.”
Too bad Shea-Porter wasn’t a respectable or honorable representative. Her job isn’t to push government, it’s to represent her constituents. She stopped holding town halls because she didn’t care about her constituents. Shea-Porter voted against a majority of what her constituents wanted because she votes along party lines. That is not how a representative is supposed to represent the people. Even New Hampshire Senator Lou D’Allesandro, a fellow Democrat, criticized Shea-Porter for ignoring her constituents.
Shea-Porter is the antithesis of “Live Free or Die” New Hampshire. She never represented the 1st Congressional District. She admits to Sullivan that she will continue to ignore her constituents and push big, failed government instead. Shea-Porter is not only wrong for the 1st Congressional District but she’s wrong for New Hampshire and wrong for the country.
